Race condition in legousbtower driver exposes a null pointer dereference caused by not removing the device file interface on an error when the probe function is called. This can cause a write-what-where condition by remapping dev->interrupt_out_buffer in tower_write, leading to privilege escalation.

This has been rated as having Low security impact and is not currently planned to be addressed in future updates. This issue does not affect the Linux kernel packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and MRG-2, as this flaw was fixed in 7.4 release.
