Description of problem: After I messed up my spyder3 installation by installing various packages (in an attend to solve bug 1502871), I ended up with an unusable graphic backend "Tkinter". Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): python3-spyder.noarch 3.2.2-1.fc26 @updates How reproducible: On my system it's very reproducible. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install lots of things. 2. Reset spyder3 to its default settings. 3. Set tmp.py in ~/.local/spyder-py3 to the tmp.py file of the attachment. 4. Select the graphic backend "Tkinter" from Tool -> Preferences -> IPython Console -> Graphics tab - Backend selection [Tkinter] 5. Run tmp.py file. Actual results: The tmp.py file runs and the graphic window opens but no graphic is drawn. Expected results: Spyder3 shows the expected graphic. Additional info: Sorry that I'm filing so many bugs this afternoon but if you need further information, just say it.

I am sorry but I cannot reproduce most of these issues. I am able to plot using inline, gtk3 and tkinter. qt4 crashes, but I wonder if that has to do with spyder being compiled with QT5 completely. I might be wrong here. qt5 plot opens but does not show anything - just like the screenshot in comment #2. I wonder if this is a matplotlib-qt5 issue. Because, every other setting seems to work fine ...
Hi, Set the relevant preferences to Tkinter, and receive the error : ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'matplotlib.backends.backend_qt4agg' As per https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1502871 Regards, Shadders.
