Created attachment 1344674 [details] Screenshot of login screen Description of problem: When browsing to the login page for Cockpit on a modular server install, the header information shows the name "Cockpit" and the Cockpit logo in the upper right, rather than displaying "Fedora Server Edition" and the Fedora logo. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cockpit-149-1.module_8a5444d0 Modular Server compose: Fedora-Modular-27-20171027.n.2 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install a modular server compose on a VM from https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/Fedora-Modular-27-20171027.n.2/compose 2. Boot the VM 3. Attempt to log in to the URL provided at the text login on the VM. Actual results: See screenshot Expected results: The machine should report itself as Fedora Server Edition Additional info: It's unclear yet whether this is an issue with our composes or an incorrect assumption being made by Cockpit. I'm opening this against Cockpit so that the subject matter experts can help me figure that out.
Could you post the /etc/os-release of that machine?
So the issues is cockpit doesn't recognize the new id fedora-modular. On IRC lars suggested we fall back to ID_LIKE, which in this case would be fedora, which would make it work. Alternatively we can add a link to fedora for fedora-modular
