Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Richard Shaw 2017-11-07 14:20:01 UTC
Description of problem:
If additional --use-xxx options are added to the fltk-config command the linker flag for the main library is dropped.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
fltk-devel-1.3.4-1.el7.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:
$ fltk-config --ldflags --use-images
-lfltk_images

$ fltk-config --ldflags
-lfltk

This problem does not present itself on Fedora so it seems to be EPEL specific.

Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2017-11-07 14:29:47 UTC
fltk isn't in epel7, but is a core rhel one.

I can confirm the problem, I'l try reassigning this.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2017-11-07 14:30:34 UTC
I can also confirm rebuilding pristine fltk fedora package (rawhide) on el7 doesn't show this problem either.

Comment 4 Richard Shaw 2017-11-07 14:32:14 UTC
Sounds like I should work around it for the time being. Thanks for follow up quickly.

Comment 5 Richard Shaw 2018-02-27 13:29:17 UTC
Any work from RH on this? Who maintains this for RHEL?

Comment 6 Richard Shaw 2019-03-07 18:19:49 UTC
With RHEL 8 in beta, is there any point in keeping this open? (Unless it also has this issue).

Comment 7 Jan Grulich 2020-02-17 09:04:19 UTC
It can be fixed, I see Fedora has a different patch than the one we carry in RHEL 7.

Comment 11 Bill Sanford 2020-04-29 18:25:31 UTC
Verified with RHEL-7.9-20200429.n.0 & fltk-1.3.4-2.el7

[root@hp-z200-tpb-c-02 ~]# fltk-config --ldflags
-lfltk
[root@hp-z200-tpb-c-02 ~]# fltk-config --ldflags --use-images
-lfltk_images -lfltk
[root@hp-z200-tpb-c-02 ~]# fltk-config --ldflags --use-images --includedir
-lfltk_images -lfltk
/usr/include
