Created attachment 1352091 [details] Disables the ES6 Proxy for the QT Platform Description of problem: Users of the package 'scudcloud' are having problems with this Webkit implementation. See: https://github.com/raelgc/scudcloud/issues/594 Summary: A change was introduced in an update to qt5-qtwebkit that caused scudcloud to be unable to connect to Slack. A fix was discovered, where the ES6 Proxy object is disabled for the QT platform, see https://github.com/raelgc/scudcloud/issues/594#issuecomment-344128177 which refers to this commit to webkit: https://github.com/annulen/webkit/commit/5648446 I've built my own version of the F27 package with the attached patch, and scudcloud now works. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): qt5-qtwebkit-5.212.0-0.12.alpha2.fc27.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install scudcloud and qt5-qtwebkit 2. Try to connect to Slack with scudcloud Actual results: Connection hangs during login screen. Expected results: scudcloud logs in correctly.
I can confirm this bug on Fedora 26 and Fedora 27
Confirmed here as well, Fedora 26 and 27.
Confirmed on Fedora 26 and 27
Severity "low"? This should be at least "medium" or even "high" as scudcloud is unusable right now.
Scudcloud is definitely broken without this. If we want to keep free alternatives to the proprietary Slack client, any chance there can be some movement? What testing needs to be done, I'll help.
It appears to be fixed upstream (which wasn't clear to me until I looked closer now, sorry), just no new qtwebkit release yet that includes the fix. I'll look into it today.
