I would note that MariaDB 10.2.x had some issues that affect SQLAlchemy as used in openstack.     As of MariaDB 10.2.9 the issues with CHECK constraints were resolved (see https://bitbucket.org/zzzeek/sqlalchemy/issues/4097).   However, if we are to bump to 10.2.x it would be good if we could do some deep tempest runs w/ RDO.

mariadb is not included in RDO since the switch to CS9
