Description Tristan Cacqueray 2018-01-03 03:06:55 UTC
Spec URL: https://fedorapeople.org/~tdecacqu/pkgs/nodepool.spec
SRPM URL: https://fedorapeople.org/~tdecacqu/pkgs/nodepool-0.4.0-1.2017.12.14.a20d81c.fc27.src.rpm

Description:
Nodepool is a service used by the OpenStack CI team to deploy and manage a pool
of devstack images on a cloud server for use in OpenStack project testing.

Note:
Nodepool feature/zuulv3 isn't release yet, this is a preemptive package of the next version.
Once the branch is tagged, the spec would need to use the released version instead of the git commit and the local driver plugin patch could be removed. Other than that, the spec should be almost good...

Comment 1 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2018-01-03 18:10:48 UTC
 - You need systemd requires too, add:

%{?systemd_requires}
BuildRequires: systemd

   See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Scriptlets#Systemd

 - The license file mist be installed with the %license macro, not %doc:

%files
%license LICENSE

 - Some dirs are not owned:

[!]: Package must own all directories that it creates.
     Note: Directories without known owners: /usr/lib/python3.6/site-
     packages/nodepool/driver, /usr/lib/python3.6
     /site-packages/nodepool, /etc/nodepool

 - gitdate should not be separated by dots:

%global gitdate 20171214

  - The Release field should mention the type of VCS:

Release:        1.%{gitdate}git%{shortcommit}%{?dist}

  - The %changelog release info are not identical to the header ones:

* Wed Jan  3 2018 Tristan Cacqueray <tdecacqu> - 0.4.0-1.20171214gita20d81c

 - Fix the line encodings for the LICENSE file:

nodepool-launcher.noarch: W: wrong-file-end-of-line-encoding /usr/share/doc/nodepool-launcher/LICENSE

 - You must ship a logrotate config file for your log. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#Logrotate_config_file

Comment 2 Tristan Cacqueray 2018-01-04 03:40:57 UTC
Thanks for the review Robert.

Spec URL: https://fedorapeople.org/~tdecacqu/pkgs/nodepool.spec
SRPM URL: https://fedorapeople.org/~tdecacqu/pkgs/nodepool-0.4.0-1.20171214gita20d81c.fc27.src.rpm

New version changes:

- Add %{?systemd_requires}
- Uses %license instead of %doc
- Uses %global gitdate 20171214
- Fixes release and changelog using 1.%{gitdate}git%{shortcommit}%{?dist}
- Fixes LICENSE encoding
- Add logrotate configuration
- Add manpage with help2man
- Fixes %file directives for correct ownership
- Remove sphinx buildinfo

Regarding the remaining rpmlint errors:

non-readable and zero-length /etc/nodepool/secure.conf is expected and may be removed in the final release. This is a legacy file unused anymore, but the service still tries to load it.

non-standard-dir-perm 750 are expected because those directory should only be available to the nodepool user. Not sure why this is an error.

Comment 3 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2018-01-04 13:32:39 UTC
Seems good, package approved.

Comment 4 Gwyn Ciesla 2018-01-04 15:05:50 UTC
(fedrepo-req-admin): The Pagure repository was created at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/nodepool. You may commit to the branch "f27" in about 10 minutes.
