Description Chuck Mead 2018-01-08 16:29:59 UTC
Description of problem: libreoffice5.4-writer-5.4.2.2-2.x86_64 locks up hard when I attempt to edit Custom Properties in a document.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): libreoffice5.4-writer-5.4.2.2-2.x86_64

How reproducible: open document, select file ---> properties ---> custom properties ----attempt to change a value in any field... writer freezes and eventually presents a message asking if I want to close the application.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open document
2.select file
3.select properties
4.select custom properties
5.edit data in field

Actual results: the application freezes and the document is corrupted and has to be "recovered".

Expected results: data should be accepted and the document should save properly

Additional info: This is F27 Workstation XFCE Spin upgraded from F26 same same.

Comment 1 Caolan McNamara 2018-01-09 14:11:21 UTC
The latest fedora provided rpm for F27 is:
libreoffice-core-5.4.4.2-1.fc27.x86_64
while:
libreoffice5.4-writer-5.4.2.2-2.x86_64
looks like the upstream rpms, not our ones

Here's a screenshot of what I am seeing.

Comment 3 Chuck Mead 2018-01-09 14:22:59 UTC
The screenshot was taken with this version...

[csm@csmt470s ~]$ rpm -q libreoffice-core
libreoffice-core-5.4.4.2-1.fc27.x86_64

Comment 4 Caolan McNamara 2018-01-09 14:45:44 UTC
I have no problem with a (fairly) simple version. It might be that it only kicks in with a sufficient long document properties scrolled window. Can you provide the document that definitely hangs. Privately by email if necessary is an option.

Comment 5 Chuck Mead 2018-01-09 15:08:44 UTC
I sent you a copy of the document I had issues with.

Comment 6 Caolan McNamara 2018-01-09 17:04:07 UTC
can reproduce with that doc on loss and return of focus to modified element, master doesn't suffer from the problem, so backporting commit that fixed it

I filed a similar bug upstream:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114653

This patch appears to fix the issue. Will update the upstream bug.

I had to wait a couple of days until the new versions synced out to the mirrors... *BUT* we're good now.

Great work and thank you!
