Description of problem: When viewing articles from a particular feed, unread articles are not highlighted in bold. This makes it impossible to determine which are old and which are unread, rendering the application unusable. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): liferea-1.12.0-2.fc27.i686 How reproducible: Every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start liferea 2. Subscribe to an RSS feed. 3. Read some articles but not others. 4. Read and unread articles will appear identical. Actual results: No UI difference between read and unread articles. Expected results: Unread articles should be highlighted in bold font as in previous versions. Additional info: Only happens in "Normal" view. "Wide" view works fine. Upstream bug: https://github.com/lwindolf/liferea/issues/578
I can't reproduce on GNOME. The bug looks to me like an incomplete/broken setting of the GTK environment by the particular desktop session. What desktop environment are you using ?
Thanks for picking this up, Yanko. I'm using Mate (1.19.2) with Marco.
Since Mate seems to maybe be part of the pictyre, I dnf grouinstall-ed mate-desktop on a machine to try and reproduce and still couldn't...
From the only posted screenshot so far in the liferea issue tracker I am trying to find the theme used with Mate but failing. None of the instlled by default look the same so it could be a externally installed theme issue...
I'm not convinced it's specifically a Mate problem. The equivalent Debian bug (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=885868) reports it with LXDE.

Just a shot in the dark for those experiencing the issue on F27. Maybe try this glib2 build https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1018393 when it finishes. Its likely to go in an update later today.
Just applied glib2-2.54.3-2.fc27.i686 and tried again. No change I'm afraid.
Thanks for testing. After your comment it finally dawned on me that the common thing is not Mate but i686 , vs what most of us run ;) Could you test this scratch build when its done and see if it works for you https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=24419790
That's fixed it! :-) Thanks for your help. I'll run this today and get back if there's any further problems. I guess Mate and i686 are kind of related in that they're a common choice for older hardware.
