The TAR file included with our docs is out of date:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/12/html-single/high_availability_for_compute_instances/#deploy-prepundercloud

In addition, we've had some reports about the security of this TAR without an MD5 checksum to verify it. If we're going to distribute tar files without docs, we need to have them properly verified.

From the field engagement hackfest:

"The tar file mentioned in the document is old and does not work with RHOSP12. It needs to be replaced. I have tested with latest (11th Jan 2017 09:45 am ) clone from github and it deployed flawlessly."

I think this is for instance HA, not so much the overcloud HA.

Dan, we are also refactoring the Instance HA guide (in addition to the Understanding HA guide), so if that tar file info will be updated in those docs then this BZ can be closed. Raoul, thoughts?

I'd say we can safely close this one, because we already retired the cloned documentation and we're refactoring it, tracking the progress in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1498728.
