Description of problem: KRDC does not connect to any rdp server and does not give feedback about what's going wrong. xfreerdp connects on the command line. User is logged in through FreeIPA. Remote Windows user is a local Windows user. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): krdc 17.08.1-1.fc27 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open KRDC 2. Connect using rdp:// Actual results: The KRDC window flickers once Additional info: When running krdc from the command line, there is no output. No errors, warnings or information is shown.
I tried to capture packets, but not a single packet is sent to the server. KRDC does not even try to make a connection.
After some testing of several combinations I found one that works. freerdp 2:2.0.0-34.20170831git3b83526.fc27 is the latest freerdp version that works. The current version is 2:2.0.0-35.20171220gitbfe8359.fc27 (does not work) The testing version is 2:2.0.0-36.20180115git8f52c7e.fc27 (does not work) Since remmina showed the same symptoms I filed bug 1537082 against freerdp.
krdc uses freerdp, so if freerdp doesn't work, neither will krdc (so likely a dup of #1537082)
does xfreerpd work for you?
Yes, xfreerdp works from the command line. The current version also works on the command line, but throws an error about GSS.
The latest xfreerdp update did say something about gss: "Make GSS support optional and disable it for now" I suspect the warning/error you're seeing is contributing to krdc failure(s), but it's also possible they changed something else in an incompatible way too.

remmina 1.2.0-0.50.20180321.git.f467f19.fc27 and deps does not work for me. downgrading with dnf gives me 1.2.0-0.42.20170908git205df66.fc27 which connects to the rdp-desktop fine. Error I get with the current testing-version: You requested an H264 GFX mode for server ..., but your libfreerdp does not support H.264. Please check Color Depth settings.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 27 is nearing its end of life. On 2018-Nov-30 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 27. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '27'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 27 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
I have at least one RDP-server with krdc that just flickers shortly but does not connect, but works fine with remmina. No console-output with any logging :-( Tested with: krdc-18.04.3-1.fc29.x86_64 Should we update this issue to Fedora 29 maybe?
