Description of problem: ovn localnet - On OVS cluster don't allow to attach VM networks to VM. As part of the physnet feature, we shouldn't allow to connect VM networks to a VM. Only external networks should be used by VMs in OVS cluster. Which means, that only external network can be used by a VM. I'm not sure how we planing to implement this, but we still do need to attach VM networks to the host, because we do need to attach the phys_net directly to the host and this will be a VM network no? or it should be a non-VM network? If we will block the attach of VM network to cluster, then it means that the phys_net must be non-VM network? Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.2.1.3-0.1.el7 How reproducible: 100%
On OVS cluster now, VM networks(native networks) no longer appears in the VM's vNIC profile drop down list and they are not available for the VMs in this cluster. Now only ovn networks(or any other external provider networks) available for the VMs in OVS cluster and only they appear in the VM's vNIC drop down list. Verified on - 4.2.4-0.1.el7
This bugzilla is included in oVirt 4.2.4 release, published on June 26th 2018. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in oVirt 4.2.4 release, it has been closed with a resolution of CURRENT RELEASE. If the solution does not work for you, please open a new bug report.
