From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050323 Firefox/1.0.2 Fedora/1.0.2-1.3.1 Description of problem: Please the add ability to have all of my IM accounts listed on one buddy list. Right now I have two buddy lists open (one for AOL, one for yahoo). It would be nice if the buddy had a layout like: Buddylist AOL: screenname Friend 1 Friend 2 Yahoo: screenname Friend 1 Friend 2 This would get rid of a second buddy list thus freeing screen space. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gaim-1.2.1-1.fc3.i386.rpm How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install two or more accounts 2. try to use all the accounts at once 3. Actual Results: multiple buddy lists are on the screen Expected Results: one buddy list Additional info:
I am sorry I forgot a level on the proposed layout Buddy List AOL: Screen Name Group 1 Friend 1 Friend 2 Friend 3 Group 2 Friend 4 Yahoo: Screen Name Group 1 Friend 1 Friend 2 Group 2 Friend 3 Friend 4
1)functionality already exists. go to tools->accounts and set both to sign on automatically. 2)proposed layout is rejected. we use a global concept of groups, and the buddies from both accounts will be mixed in those groups. this allows greater flexibility for users, a simpler interface, and is more in lines with our attempt to abstract away from the protocols. ps, I am speaking as upstream in rejecting, not as RH.
Red Hat will follow upstream.
