Version de l'agent sous virtio 1.141-1

Description of problem:

When we install the latest drivers of Virtio (0.1.141) on a Windows machine and we query it by the host, we see that the version of the agent is at 0.12.1. This version is 5 years old and should be made to version 2.11 (which is the most recent) of the agent (according to the QEMU website). Even the agent archive QEMU 7.4.5-1 to the same problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Version 0.1.141-1 of the virtio Drivers/Agent
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/archive-virtio/virtio-win-0.1.141-1/

How reproducible:

Install the agent in the virtual machine and query from the host. This one should return you that the version is at 0.12 (which dates from 5 years).

Expected results:

According to the QEMU website, we should have version 2.11 of the agent.

Additional info:

We compiled the agent ourselves and we have the 2.11 version.
Version 2.11 fixes the problem of backup on Windows 2012R2 with disk user profile, which is not the case with version 0.12 since it is too old.

Thanks for the report, this is a known issue. That's the build that was shipped in RHEL up until recently, it's very old for historical reasons. New builds are available but I need to update the public build scripts to include them

Thank you for your reply,

do you have an idea when it will be done for the public build?

Thank you!

Comment 3 Cole Robinson 2018-04-05 23:59:34 UTC
Done now, latest published ISO should have qemu-ga based on qemu 2.9.0
