Description of problem: ----------------------- 1. If the user provides the full disk path as /dev/sdb in cockpit UI, the gdeploy configuration file is generated with vg names, thinpool names, lv name with that full path. for example, poolname=gluster_thinpool_/dev/sdb 2. If the user provides the full disk path as /dev/sdc for lvmcache configuration, then the disk is chosen as '/dev/sdc' and not just 'sdc' Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ------------------------------------------------------------- Observed this with cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.11.9-0.1.el7ev.noarch But should be reproducible with earlier versions too How reproducible: ----------------- Always Steps to Reproduce: ------------------- 1. Start with RHHI installation using cockpit 2. Provide the disk as '/dev/sdb' Actual results: --------------- All the LVM components ( vg, lv thinpool, lv, etc ) should make use of the basename Expected results: ----------------- LVM components have the suffix of '/dev/sdb'
Tested with cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.11.22 Base names are used for creating bricks. Even when /dev/sdb is provided from cockpit UI, the names are used as gluster_vg_sdb
