Comment 1 Marina Kalinin 2018-02-16 20:27:40 UTC
I believe this bug might be a duplicate of this bug: bz#1489145.

Comment 2 Robert Scheck 2018-02-17 13:06:18 UTC
Not really. Bug #1489145 aims to cover much more than just repairing images/
snapshots marked as illegal. Given we run into bug #1545708 (more than once),
we believe that RHV's image handling is quite buggy. Spending hours with GSS
in a severity 1 scenario is not acceptable for us, thus we would like to see
the steps that GSS is doing automated with this RFE as part of webbased UI.

Comment 4 Sandro Bonazzola 2019-01-28 09:40:26 UTC
This bug has not been marked as blocker for oVirt 4.3.0.
Since we are releasing it tomorrow, January 29th, this bug has been re-targeted to 4.3.1.

This bug didn't get any attention for a while, we didn't have the capacity to make any progress. If you deeply care about it or want to work on it please assign/target accordingly

Comment 11 Robert Scheck 2020-04-01 14:58:57 UTC
Michal, I'm disagreeing. We as customer raised this feature request because RHV leads every now and then to illegal image states and repairing it is a manually painful task. Thus please reopen, otherwise I will escalate via GSS.

Comment 14 Michal Skrivanek 2020-04-07 06:52:28 UTC
We can keep this open, no problem.

Note to date we have implemented discrepancy check tool in bug 1739106.

Comment 17 Marina Kalinin 2020-06-09 20:30:08 UTC
In my opinion this request is very important as well, but we may have to compromise on having only this one implemented bz#1469683.

Comment 19 Robert Scheck 2020-06-09 20:53:12 UTC
Yes, bug #1469683 could be a first step into the right direction, but that one also looks quite stale from my perspective (but IANARHE). One of our main concerns that GSS still needs to be involved doesn't seem to be addressed by bug #1469683 though. Our expectation is that common analysis steps normally manually (or semi-manually?) done by GSS are covered as well (the tool still could error out for unknown or not-yet-supported situations).

Comment 20 Marina Kalinin 2020-06-16 03:25:12 UTC
Hi Robert,

I totally share your perspective and my dream is to have all snapshot cases to be magically solved by a push of a button in UI. I am RHV Product Lead and know from first hand experience what it means. However, based on multiple discussion and tooling development we have been having between ourselves in support team and with Engineering, this may not be as easy to implement as we would like and we prefer at this point to stay on the side of caution and engage the support team for such operations.

Sincerely,
Marina Kalinin.

Comment 42 Sandro Bonazzola 2022-03-29 16:16:40 UTC
We are past 4.5.0 feature freeze, please re-target.
