Since Fedora-Rawhide-20180217.n.2 (which was the first compose after Fedora-Rawhide-20180204.n.0 , due to a bunch of issues to do with the mass rebuild, GCC 8, pykickstart and the libevent soname bump), the GNOME Software "Welcome to Software" screen is showing up shortly after boot of the Workstation live image. Clicking on "Let's go shopping" doesn't actually cause the Software UI to appear, though, the splash screen just goes away and then everything works as normal. This broke the openQA tests, as obviously they don't expect this screen to suddenly appear. I can tweak them to work around it, though. This probably doesn't need to block Beta, we should fix it though as it looks weird.
Between 20180204 and 20180217, all of these changes happened: * Thu Feb 15 2018 Kalev Lember <klember> - 3.27.90-1 - Update to 3.27.90 - Temporarily disable the rpm-ostree plugin * Tue Feb 13 2018 Björn Esser <besser82> - 3.27.4-4 - Rebuild against newer gnome-desktop3 package * Thu Feb 08 2018 Kalev Lember <klember> - 3.27.4-3 - Add fedora-workstation-repositories to nonfree-sources schema defaults So this is likely caused by one of those.
Thanks, should be fixed upstream in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/commit/4a61725ccb1a9a45d7b991c29827a238dcacd564
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 28 development cycle. Changing version to '28'.
I backported the patch and did a new gnome-software build cos that was easier than making openQA work around the bug...should be in the next Rawhide / F28 composes.
This still seems to be happening in current Rawhide, even with the backported patch :( . It appears over gnome-initial-setup , on first boot of an install from the Workstation network install image (anaconda is currently broken on lives). e.g.: https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/196064#step/_graphical_wait_login/13
Oh, that was just because the network install installed the older package. Will keep an eye on this for now, we have other issues with the compose which make it hard to be sure if it's fixed.
