Description Jeffrey Cutter 2018-02-20 20:44:39 UTC
Description of problem:

Using amazon_CustomizeRequest from the Red Hat domain:

When using a generic catalog item, setting the security groups using just the security group name doesn't seem to work.

prov.set_option(:security_groups, [securitygroup.name])

It shows in the prov object the after provision it is missing from the prov object on the rails console.

Using the id and name does seem to work, like this:

prov.set_option(:security_groups, [securitygroup.id, securitygroup.name])

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

5.8.2

Comment 2 Greg McCullough 2018-02-20 22:27:09 UTC
This is a dup of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1335989 I marked the BZ and MR for back-porting to 5.8.z.

Note: Since security_groups can be an array of IDs this should be set with:
  prov.set_option(:security_groups, [securitygroup.id])
