I attempted to update opam to 2.0; it failed because of this change in ocaml-re 1.7.2: > Deprecate all Re_* modules. Re_x is now available as Re.X It looks like the latest opam release wants to refer to things by Re.X, which aren't available in 1.7.3. Would it be possible to update this in Rawhide?

Since this appears to only be a dependency of opam right now (and dose3), any chance you'd mind letting me co-maintain this package? I got a request to update opam to 2.0.1 in stable branches (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1643738), which will require newer ocaml-re in F29 too.
Could you remind me of your Fedora FAS account name? I'll be able to add you as comaintainer immediately after.
Sure, no problem! It's "tc01". Thanks!
OK it's done. It said it "may take a while" for changes to propagate.

I've built ocaml-re 1.9.0 in Rawhide.
