Description Radek Duda 2018-03-07 12:23:12 UTC
Why this RFE?

1. Unify behaviour for VMs of different OSes

'Other OS' or Linux OS reacts differently on the checkbox 'Attach CD' in 'Boot Options' of VM setting then Windows* OS. Linux VM attaches ISO from the drop-down list, while Windows VM not - unless there is chosen cd-rom as second boot device. Actually to Windows VM is attached ISO of latest RHEV-tools by default (in case it is found in ISO domain), but it is not marked by 'Attach CD' check-box.

2. VM of Windows type: to make possible to select different ISO than latest RHEV-tools*.iso without need to select CD-ROM as second boot device.

I think for Windows OS the best would be to detect, whether there is any RHEV-tools in ISO domain - if so, then automatically check 'Attach CD' checkbox and choose latest RHEV-tools ISO from the list next to checkbox by default (during VM creation period). User can then easily decide whether he wants to attach RHEV-tools and of what version - or some different ISO.

It then will behave the same for all OSes - always attaches CD from the list if the checkbox is marked and not attach anything if check-box is unmarked.

This will not be addressed in a reasonable timeframe. Please re-open if it's still important.
