Description of problem: This appeared after a system upgrade from a fully working Fedora 27 to Fedora 28. SELinux is preventing iscsid from 'map' accesses on the file /usr/lib/modules/4.16.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc28.x86_64/modules.dep.bin. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that iscsid should be allowed map access on the modules.dep.bin file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'iscsid' --raw | audit2allow -M my-iscsid # semodule -X 300 -i my-iscsid.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:iscsid_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:modules_object_t:s0 Target Objects /usr/lib/modules/4.16.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc28.x86_64/m odules.dep.bin [ file ] Source iscsid Source Path iscsid Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.14.1-10.fc28.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 4.16.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc28.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Feb 26 15:15:43 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 6 First Seen 2018-03-09 10:30:38 CET Last Seen 2018-03-09 14:12:40 CET Local ID ea8e29c2-24fb-43b7-83da-145e004cbaa3 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1520601160.404:244): avc: denied { map } for pid=1442 comm="iscsid" path="/usr/lib/modules/4.16.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc28.x86_64/modules.dep.bin" dev="dm-1" ino=1442015 scontext=system_u:system_r:iscsid_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:modules_object_t:s0 tclass=file permissive=0 Hash: iscsid,iscsid_t,modules_object_t,file,map Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-3.14.1-10.fc28.noarch Additional info: component: selinux-policy reporter: libreport-2.9.3 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 4.16.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc28.x86_64 type: libreport
