Description of problem: There is not any appdata.xml/metainfo.xml file available in the CHIRP package. Because of this, CHIRP cannot be found and/or installed using the GNOME Software application or another package manager UI based on AppStream. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open GNOME Software. 2. Type "chirp".
Patches welcome :) I maintain about 70 desktop application packages so I've been working through them slowly as I have time. It's not hard but it is tedious.

CHIRP is still not displayed in GNOME Software on Fedora 31.
This is probably because it is retired in Rawhide due to not being updated for Python 3.
I'm going to close this for now. If upstream makes chirp Python 3 compatible then the problem will resolve itself.
