Description of problem: The trackpad on my Thinkpad X240 is very imprecise and extremely impractical to use. This is the exact same bug as Bug 1425607. Using synaptics driver in xorg is a viable solution, however I prefer to use Wayland as GNOME is much better performing. Using the fix mentioned in comment 1 of the said bug report yields unsatisfactory results, fixing the jitter but resulting in a cursor that goes either too slow or too fast.
