Description Andreas Karis 2018-04-24 14:19:03 UTC
Description of problem:
Hello,

Please fix the isolcpus section in NFV configuration guide.
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/reference_architectures/2017/html/deploying_mobile_networks_using_red_hat_openstack_platform_10/nfv_performance_tuning_with_ovs_dpdk#setting_ooo_heat_templates_based_on_your_hardware

It currently says:
~~~
Note
isolcpus is included here from a tuning context. isolcpus is not required if the deployment uses 2.8.x version of tuned RPMs (tuned-2.8.0-3.el7.noarch.rpm and tuned-profiles-cpu-partitioning-2.8.0-3.el7.noarch.rpm). NFV validation lab used version 2.7.x tuned RPMs (tuned-2.7.1-3.el7_3.1.noarch.rpm and tuned-profiles-cpu-partitioning-2.7.1-5.el7.noarch.rpm) and hence isolcpus was included.
~~~

According to internal discussion, isolcpus is *still* needed for NFV configuration, no matter what.

Thanks,

Andreas
