Description Alexander Wigen 2018-04-30 11:40:14 UTC
Description of problem:

Network link is not detected in kernel release 4.16. The on board link LED indicates a link but ip l / ethtool reports no link detected.

Booting with 4.15 results in an working link.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kernel-4.16.4-200.fc27.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using a Asus XG-C100C 10G Network Adapter
2. Boot with kernel-4.16.4-200.fc27.x86_64

Actual results:

No link is reported by OS however card is indicating a working link via the onboard LED (also on the switch).

Expected results:

The link should be reported as up the same way it is in 4.15

Additional info:

This has been fixed upstream, kernel bug 199177

Comment 1 Alexander Wigen 2018-05-09 10:25:19 UTC
