Similar problem has been detected: I do not know what caused the problem, however I noticed some unusual behaviour before the crash. When trying to drag-n-drop a folder into another folder, nothing would happen when dropping the folder. It would not get moved, the "New bookmark" item would still be displayed, etc... So I closed Nautilus and restarted it several times, but every time the same behaviour would happen. Then Nautilus crashed. The issue was not present anymore after the crash. reporter: libreport-2.9.5 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /usr/bin/nautilus --gapplication-service crash_function: stop_cache_selection_list executable: /usr/bin/nautilus journald_cursor: s=f47d20cd396f4a94a5497fbaa5cd0087;i=9a305;b=a1025ec238934ec08a04b0c1ea6673c1;m=25ae44af3;t=579ea64b2c1ea;x=44fb95e466abdc6c kernel: 4.18.16-200.fc28.x86_64 package: nautilus-3.28.1-1.fc28 reason: nautilus killed by SIGSEGV rootdir: / runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000
Similar problem has been detected: Shortly before the crash, I tried to drag-n-drop multiple PDF files to a newly created folder, but the drag-n-drop had no effect and apparently left nautilus in an unexpected state (both the files and the folder were selected, the folder icon was "open"). I then killed nautilus with Ctrl+q and opened it again to return to a working state. I will see if I can reproduce this issue. reporter: libreport-2.9.5 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /usr/bin/nautilus --gapplication-service crash_function: stop_cache_selection_list executable: /usr/bin/nautilus journald_cursor: s=f47d20cd396f4a94a5497fbaa5cd0087;i=29f6a1;b=6fdbf063efbf49efb1711e0b984a9644;m=10c10dbd22;t=5804ec160e92b;x=c5d36cd596d92ecf kernel: 4.19.15-200.fc28.x86_64 package: nautilus-3.28.1-1.fc28 reason: nautilus killed by SIGSEGV rootdir: / runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000
This message is a reminder that Fedora 28 is nearing its end of life. On 2019-May-28 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 28. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '28'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 28 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 28 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-05-28. Fedora 28 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
