Description of problem: I have GTX 1070 card and 4K TV as monitor. The monitor resolution is 3840x2160, but the default nouveau driver display in 4096x2160 resolution. If I tried to use the gnome-settings->displays to change the resolution to 3840x2160, the screen turn blank, and some time later, it changes back to 4096x2160. Also, the TV should be able to run in 60Hz, but the nouveau driver only set to 30Hz.
