Description of problem:
Wireless networking (ath10k) hung.  
Issued a systemctl restart NetworkManager.  

While the NetworkManager restart forced the kernel crash, the root of the issue is that something was already hung in the wireless stack.

Description of problem:
When using wifi hotspot systems with multiple accesspoints after few minutes the Wifi connection fails. 

Right now i can turn wifi off and on again (via Gnome) and then it works again for some time.

I do not get this behaviour when connecting to single access point wifi.

I think this is related with BZ#1577106  - but upto now the system isn't freezing completly anymore (there was a kernel update to 4.16.8-300.fc28.x86_64 since then)

since 4.16.9-300.fc28.x86_64 I haven't seen this error anymore. Wifi was stable since the upgrade.

I am still seeing this error on 4.16.9-300.fc28.x86_64, with a slight twist however:

After between 3 and 30 seconds of network traffic the networking will hang.  I cannot ping anything, and any in flight TCP traffic (say a wget) stalls.  Traffic will not resume without a 'systemctl restart NetworkManager'. 

When issuing a 'systemctl restart Network Manager' abrt has previously picked up the crash report.  With 4.16.9-300.fc28.x86_64 I'm getting no such crash report.  However, I am still seeting a bunch of errors and a stack trace printed out in dmesg.  The errors and stack trace appear to be similar if not identical to previously attached dmesg logs as included by abrt.  I'm attaching said snippet from dmesg with this most recent 4.16.9-300.fc28.x86_64 kernel.

All that to say, this problem remains to a certain extent.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  There are a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale.  Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 28 kernel bugs.

Fedora 28 has now been rebased to 4.17.7-200.fc28.  Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Testing with 4.18.0-rc5 right now and things have improved some (more stable wifi, much better xhci support, ...).

While issues where still there with 4.17.x, it seems that 4.18 will address those problem for most here.

Not really helpful for stock FC28 but thought I would mention it here.

This behavior was still present for me in 4.17.x, decided to test 4.18 because of the work on xhci (unrelated) and the new version seems to have improved (solved?) this issue.

cfeller: Someone else having reported this still running 4.17.7-200.fc28 or similar should report back here in order to clear the needinfo.
