Hi, I would like to remove a2ps from Fedora because the upstream seems to be dead (the last released version in 2007), other converters with similar features exist (paps, enscript) and if converted postscript is used for sending to printer, then most of current printers support PWG raster, JPEG or PDF format. Would you mind removing dependency on a2ps in perl-Font-AFM? It seems this package needs a2ps only for optional test - would you mind disabling it?
Created attachment 1440546 [details] Dependency list improvement This patch defines all dependencies and allows to disable the optional test that requires a2ps (replace %bcond_without with %bcond_with).

Though I consider the rationale to remove a2ps to be illformed (a package not seeing active development is not a valid reason to remove it), I do not mind you to remove the dep. Petr, this patch is not OK, because you do not address this issue nor does your patch fix any actual bug. You are simply trying to propagate your personal style of writing perl specs.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 32 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 32 on 2021-05-25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '32'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 32 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 32 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-05-25. Fedora 32 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates.
