Description Vasishta 2018-05-24 04:10:41 UTC
Description of problem:

Section 2.5. Enabling the Red Hat Ceph Storage Repositories in RHELinstallation guides needs following modifications -

1) As in 2.x installation guide - Section 2.3.2. Local Repository, We need to add information about using local repository (iso based installation)

First three steps of "Download the Red Hat Ceph Storage ISO" part can be added.

2) As ceph-ansible can enable corresponding repos on mon/osd/client, It seems that all steps other than 3, (which is mandatory) are redundant.
Letting users not to follow steps 1,2,4,5,6 will increase usability by great extent, especially when intended number of nodes in cluster is high.

( Step 2 also applies for 2.x doc, Under section - "2.3.1. Content Delivery Network (CDN)", second, third, fourth bullet points are redundant)

Hi Erin,

In configuring firewall section, (Including container guide, ubuntu installation guide) we have mentioned that -

"The Ceph Object Gateway nodes use port 7480 by default"

but the default port has been set to 8080 by ceph-ansible, so to increase the usability of doc, we can mention this and also it is better if we change examples to reflect the same.

Regards,
