Description of problem: We're talking about the following setting in /etc/gnocchi/gnocchi.conf: ~~~~ [storage] < snip > # Storage driver to use (string value) #driver = file ~~~~ Originally we would use the file driver locally on a non-HA deployment: ~~~~ 2.1.2. Use a File Back End parameter_defaults: GnocchiBackend: file IMPORTANT: This is only advisable if you are deploying small, proof-of-concept overcloud deployments with High Availability disabled. ~~~~ However, recently we've added support for the file driver to be stored on an NFS share. See BZ 1495255 for details. Naturally, it's a hard requirement for Director to support the new driver placement (otherwise no one who cares about their telemetry data and has placed it on an NFS would ever update their cloud). There's already an upstream effort in that direction: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/570226/ Please follow along and backport the patch as soon as possible to RHOS-10 (i.e. downstream LTS, at least).
