oVirt gerrit 91723 0 master ABANDONED ansible: open fluentd port in iptables and firewalld 2018-06-05 07:54:45 UTC

Description Shirly Radco 2018-05-29 09:37:50 UTC
Description of problem:
Iptable is blocking fluentd from sending data to elasticsearch

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.0.4.3

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have iptables running on a host with metrics configured
2. Check kibana hosts dashboard, hosts list widget for the host
3.

Actual results:
Metrics are not collected for the host and vms running on that host

Expected results:
Iptables should allow sending data through fluentd port

Why do you think so?

I think it's unlikely. We do not normally filter output in iptables, only input.

This can happen due to many other reasons.

After opening the port for fluentd this fixed the issue.

Comment 3 Shirly Radco 2018-06-05 08:34:19 UTC
After forther investigation with Didi. Iptables does not seem to be the issue with data not saved to elasticsearch.
I'm closing this bug in favor of Bug 1585666
