Description of problem:

When running xdg=open http://example.com the open fails.  The url is prepended by the current home directory

How reproducible:

Only in LXDE environment

Steps to Reproduce:
1.   xdg-open http://example.com

Actual results:

The browser reports that /home/username/http://example.com is not found

Expected results:

The browser opens the url as given
