nodejs-unicode before version 9.0.0 insecurely download resources over HTTP. In scenarios where an attacker has a privileged network position, they can modify or read such resources at will. While the exact severity of impact for a vulnerability like this is highly variable and depends on the behavior of the package itself, it ranges from being able to read sensitive information all the way up to and including remote code execution. Created nodejs-unicode-7.0.0 tracking bugs for this issue: Affects: epel-all [bug 1584936] Affects: fedora-all [bug 1584937]
This module is just unicode-7.0.0 module. Its upstream has changed the way releases should happen. previously they were released as per Unicode version per module project but now they moved to unique project https://www.npmjs.com/package/unicode which I have no plan to package currently. Hence, I have retired this package in Fedora and EPEL. The dependent package nodejs-langdetect has also been retired.
