I cannot reproduce this on Fedora 29, but I tried under Plasma running xdg-desktop-portal-gtk, which I think shouldn't make difference.

Can you maybe try it now with updated demo app. I found out that the pdf there was broken, it should be fixed now, but I'm not sure if this could cause this problem.

The latest version is v1.1.3 for me here.
