Description Anssi Johansson 2018-06-10 06:44:52 UTC
Description of problem:
The old webkitgtk package which provided libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0 and libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so.0 was recently removed from EPEL due to the package being unmaintained. This makes compat-wxGTK3-gtk2 uninstallable.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. "yum install compat-wxGTK3-gtk2"

Actual results:
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: compat-wxGTK3-gtk2-3.0.2-6.el7.x86_64 (epel)
           Requires: libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0()(64bit)

Expected results:
Package gets installed.

Comment 1 Anssi Johansson 2019-06-02 08:16:20 UTC
Apparently gnucash-2.6.21-3.el7.x86_64 provides libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0()(64bit) nowadays. This has a funny consequence that installing compat-wxGTK3-gtk2 will now pull in gnucash as a dependency.

Comment 2 Tomasz Tomasik 2019-06-02 09:17:53 UTC
The compat-wxGTK3-gtk2 package must be rebuilt due to removal of webkitgtk:

This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30.\n\nEPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it\nwill not receive any further security or bug fix updates.\n As a result we are closing this bug.
