This is an odd situation, which will typically not occur. It was reported to ntp.org coders as case 420. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.1 and 4.2 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. No daemon in background. 2. Unconfigure your loop if, (no IP, but UP!). 3. run ntpd -d (debug mode) Actual Results: Segmentation fault after a few seconds, not immediatly. It creates (3-4) /tmp/ntpd*.PID files. It contains autotrace+autodebug informations. Please, can you send me these files ?
