Description Lev Veyde 2018-06-21 08:05:31 EDT
Description of problem:
The Windows Guest Tools ISO contains the PDB (debug info) files for the VirtIO-Win drivers.
These take several hundreds of MBs on the ISO, increasing it's size, as any packages that include it, like the appliance package.
Since these are rarely used it's best to move them to a separate package/ISO image.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.2-5

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Drivers directory on the Windows Guest Tools ISO image.
2. Go over the subdirectories that include drivers and note the PDB files.

Actual results:
PDB files are included on the ISO image taking several hundreds of MB of disk space.

Expected results:
The PDB files should be available, but since these are rarely used it's best if these are provided as part of the separate package, on a separate ISO image.

Additional info:
A separate package will be created that will include an ISO image to contain only VirtIO-Win drivers together with the PDB files.
The package is called: rhv-guest-drivers-debug-iso

Verified on rhv-guest-tools-iso-4.2-6.el7ev.noarch and rhv-guest-drivers-debug-iso-4.2-6.el7ev.noarch

[root@she-test-03 ~]# ll -h /usr/share/rhv-guest-tools-iso/RHV-toolsSetup_4.2_6.iso
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 363M Jun 17 12:04 /usr/share/rhv-guest-tools-iso/RHV-toolsSetup_4.2_6.iso

[root@she-test-03 ~]# ll -h /usr/share/rhv-guest-drivers-debug-iso/RHV-driversDebug_4.2_6.iso
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 460M Jun 21 14:57 /usr/share/rhv-guest-drivers-debug-iso/RHV-driversDebug_4.2_6.iso

PDB files are present only on debug iso.
