This message is a reminder that Fedora 28 is nearing its end of life. On 2019-May-28 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 28. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '28'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 28 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

I'm getting this on F31 with kernel 5.5.7-200.fc31.x86_64. 100% reproducible with: DRI_PRIME=1 mpv --hwdec=vdpau anymovie.mp4 DRI_PRIME=1 is needed for mpv to use the discrete GPU: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GF108M [GeForce GT 525M] [10de:0df5] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) on this Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop.

Still reproducible with: 5.8.16-200.fc32.x86_64. I'll check again after upgrading to F33.

Kind regards, I am writing to report a very old bug with the nouveau driver for graphics "[GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a]" which affects practically all Linux distributions, for many years it has been causing a completely scratched screen error in Xorg, while In Wayland the screen only freezes and does not allow doing anything else, the following link describes this problem in more detail: https://nouveau.freedesktop.narkive.com/NoeonDJf/system-freeze-debian-testing-with-c61-geforce-7025-nforce-630a Preview: [img]https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/191d/t85974wub4smv7b6g.jpg[/img] Please help me and do not forget this problem, I am low-income and I can't access more modern PCs, I'm afraid. It's still mostly reproducible on F34 (5.11.17-300.fc34.x86_64). There's no video corruption or kernel WARNING any more, just system becoming slow to respond and Xorg consuming 100% of one CPU core with these messages in dmesg: [ 7432.563548] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b744b timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7436.536516] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: mpv/vo[10304]: failed to idle channel 4 [mpv/vo[10304]] [ 7443.316458] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b744c timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7451.536392] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: mpv/vo[10304]: failed to idle channel 4 [mpv/vo[10304]] [ 7453.555484] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: runlist update timeout [ 7453.555530] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: INTR 00000001: 0000000b [ 7454.579422] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b744d timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7465.331280] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b744e timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7465.331371] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:mpv/vo[10304]:ff020b21 timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7476.595187] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b744f timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7487.347098] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b7450 timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7498.099011] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b7451 timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) [ 7509.362929] Asynchronous wait on fence nouveau:Xorg[757]:ff8b7452 timed out (hint:submit_notify [i915]) Again, it's enough to run: DRI_PRIME=1 mpv -vo=vdpau --hwdec=vdpau any_h264_video.mp4 and press `q'.

You are getting a kernel panic, while this report is about a different kernel WARNING.
