I can confirm the same behavior on Fedora Core 4 final
I can't confirm it. You just have to run kmix/alsamixer and adjust your volume settings. The you have to go to "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack" in alsamixer and make it still. Don't mute it, just make it still. Martin
(In reply to comment #5) Martin, Did you do a clean-install? was your "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack" enabled by default? I can confirm sound works after checking the "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack" in the Volume Control under GNOME. The switch was not visible but I could make it visible by selecting it from Edit-->Preferences. Still, this is information that could have made it into the "KNOWN Issues" of the Release Notes because it is certainly different behaviour from FC3. Can it still be considered a bug, since the sound should "just work" but it doesn't?

I am having the same problem as yours. My sound card works fine on FC3, but after I installed FC4, the sound card does not work, when I use system-config-soundcard I get following messages: amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM-2',0 amixer: Unable to find simple control 'DRC Range',0 Please help. I am had the same problem. Now, my soundcard is OK! Solution: I adjusted the "External Amplifier" in tabled "Switch" in KMIX to "Enabled" (Yellow led).
