+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1596650 +++

Description of problem:
While adding additional hosts using expand cluster Day 2 operations, the 3rd tab "Volume" couldn't be surpassed without adding a volume. Could see error "Minimum one volume should be defined for hosted-engine deployment". Which will not be done in cluster expansion.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.11.28-1.el7ev.noarch
gdeploy-2.0.2-27.el7rhgs.noarch
ansible-2.6.0-0.5.rc5.el7ae.noarch

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Deploy HE on RHHI enviornment
2.Login to cockpit dashboard
3.Manage gluster -> expand cluster

Actual results:
Can't proceed without a volume

Expected results:
Shouldn't throw error

Why is this a high severity?

Comment 2 bipin 2018-08-17 03:45:57 UTC
Changing to medium

Comment 3 Rohan CJ 2018-11-26 07:45:28 UTC
While the error message "Minimum one volume should be defined for hosted-engine deployment" is wrong, it does it serve any purpose to run the cockpit based expand cluster operation without creating any gluster volumes?

Would it be enough to change the error message to something like "Create a minimum of 1 volume"?

Comment 4 Sandro Bonazzola 2019-01-28 09:44:29 UTC
This bug has not been marked as blocker for oVirt 4.3.0.
Since we are releasing it tomorrow, January 29th, this bug has been re-targeted to 4.3.1.

There could be a case, where you want to expand cluster and then expand volume?

Comment 7 Sahina Bose 2019-10-11 10:41:25 UTC
Expanding cluster can be done from ovirt-engine. Hence closing this.
