Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description jcallaha 2018-07-11 13:41:57 UTC
Description of problem:
While attempting to edit the cdn url field, on the manage manifest modal, there is no way to determine what is going on. When you try to delete the existing text, the entire field goes blank after a few backspaces. The field is still being edited, you just can't see it.

Additionally, when trying to paste or type text into the box, the same thing happens.

Since there is no 'save' button, a user likely wouldn't know if/when their suspected changes takes place.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Satellite 6.4 Snap 11

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Navigate to the Subscriptions page
2. Click the Manage Manifest button
3. Attempt to edit the field and save your changes.

Actual results:
The field doesn't work like a normal text field, and is very difficult to use.

Expected results:
The field works exactly like a normal text field, with no issues. Additionally, saving the change should be intuitive.

Additional info:
I will include a recording in a separate attachment.

Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/24292 has been resolved.

Comment 8 jcallaha 2018-09-18 18:20:24 UTC
Verified in Satellite 6.4 Snap 22.

My previous issues with the cdn edit field are now resolved. I followed the same reproduction steps as seen in the video and my initial report.

I have some additional concerns for this field, but that is outside the scope of this bug.
