Description Pablo Hess 2018-07-13 21:11:12 UTC
1. Proposed title of this feature request

Add autofill functionality to the Job invocation Search query box.

2. Who is the customer behind the request?

(see next private comment)

3. What is the nature and description of the request?

When creating a job invocation on the webUI, the 'Search query' box offers no help and the search terms available are not documented. Seeing as the Host search box under the Hosts > All hosts page offers very handy autofill functionality, I'd like to have the same autofill functionality be added to the Job invocation 'Search query' box.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

Defining a Search query for new Job invocations is not intuitive and is not well documented. What fields are available? Autofill like in the Hosts search box would be very helpful in the Job invocations search.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

Start typing something e.g. "os" and have the search box offer autofill suggestions such as "os_major" and "os_minor" along with any other search term starting with "os".

6. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

On the webUI, Monitor > Jobs, Run Job, click the Search query box and start typing something. Use the autofill suggestions and click the eye button to check if the search terms are producing the expected host list.

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?

None that I could find.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?

No.

9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?

(see next private comment)

10. List any affected packages or components.

tfm-rubygem-foreman_remote_execution

11. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?

(see next private comment)

Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/13139 has been resolved.

Comment 6 Peter Ondrejka 2020-06-02 09:10:14 UTC
Verified in Satellite 6.8 snap 2, autofill functionality is present in search field and job invocations page
