With the addition of the 7 day temporary subscription in Satellite versions 6.2.12 and 6.3.x, it is not necessary to run virt-who as often as the default (once an hour) This RFE recommends updating /etc/sysconfig/virt-who or /etc/virt-who.d/* to change the virt-who interval to 1 day (3600 seconds)

Assigning to Sergei for review. Sergei - there are one or two changes we need to make here. Mention of the interval is found in two places in the Virtual Instances Guide - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.4/html-single/virtual_instances_guide/#virtual_machine_subscription_process-1 https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.4/html-single/virtual_instances_guide/#creating-virt-who-configuration-with-hammer The listing of interval in the example in creating a configuration using hammer should be changed to '60' to bring it in line with the default, and the 'Note' admonition box updated to add the note above about changing the default to 3600 as per the above. Before adding the note, it might be good to ask Rich a little more about the 7 day temporary subscription and whether having it is simply enough or whether there is any additional information we should pass on to users.
