Jeff, I am not sure I understand your point here.. The French "Valider" is a ok here.. I think the best translation will have been "Appliquer" may be it was your point. Could you confirm?
The French speaking people I was working with said it didn't make sense in these two examples. I wouldn't know. If it helps you to make sense of it, the same two buttons say "Commit" when using English as the locale.

I'm returning this back to ON_DEV, since it simply requires a new french translation (as stated in comment #4). It will be moved over to POST once new catalogs land for ivanchuk.
