Description of problem: The wifi connection on my T460s started being very unstable recently. Every 20-30 minutes everything stops for around a minute. I see the following messages in dmesg: [ 3936.225408] wlp4s0: deauthenticated from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (Reason: 7=CLASS3_FRAME_FROM_NONASSOC_STA) [ 3936.310774] wlp4s0: authenticate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de [ 3936.320041] wlp4s0: send auth to ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 3936.342197] wlp4s0: authenticated [ 3936.342674] wlp4s0: associating with AP with corrupt probe response [ 3936.343357] wlp4s0: associate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 3936.382777] wlp4s0: RX AssocResp from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (capab=0x511 status=0 aid=2) [ 3936.386820] wlp4s0: associated [ 5061.540644] wlp4s0: deauthenticated from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (Reason: 4=DISASSOC_DUE_TO_INACTIVITY) [ 5061.603540] wlp4s0: authenticate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de [ 5061.612910] wlp4s0: send auth to ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 5061.635332] wlp4s0: authenticated [ 5061.636172] wlp4s0: associating with AP with corrupt probe response [ 5061.636504] wlp4s0: associate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 5061.676481] wlp4s0: RX AssocResp from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (capab=0x511 status=0 aid=2) [ 5061.680243] wlp4s0: associated [ 5260.790819] wlp4s0: deauthenticated from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (Reason: 7=CLASS3_FRAME_FROM_NONASSOC_STA) [ 5262.051243] wlp4s0: authenticate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de [ 5262.059959] wlp4s0: send auth to ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 5262.086223] wlp4s0: authenticated [ 5262.089482] wlp4s0: associating with AP with corrupt probe response [ 5262.090206] wlp4s0: associate with ac:22:05:18:1b:de (try 1/3) [ 5262.128499] wlp4s0: RX AssocResp from ac:22:05:18:1b:de (capab=0x511 status=0 aid=2) [ 5262.131768] wlp4s0: associated Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-4.17.9-200.fc28.x86_64 NetworkManager-wifi-1.10.10-1.fc28.x86_64 04:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a) How reproducible: Constantly Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect to WiFi Actual results: The connection gets stuck after around 20-30 minutes for around a minute. Expected results: The connection is stable. Additional info: Rebooting helped, but only for around an hour. I don't see the same problem with 2 android phones or T530 with F28, so I assume it's specific to my hardware.
Created attachment 1472079 [details] Kernel panic on reboot On rebooting (trying the older kernel) got kernel panic.
Update: this problem does not seem to happen on kernel 4.17.7-200.fc28.x86_64
We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 28 kernel bugs. Fedora 28 has now been rebased to 4.18.10-300.fc28. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel. If you have moved on to Fedora 29, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 29. If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.
It seems fine with 4.18.9, closing for now.
