Description Pavel Cahyna 2018-08-03 15:30:09 UTC
Description of problem:

It would be nice if the Web system search showed also the <hostRequires> XML pattern that the query resulted into in addition to search results. That would allow it to use for the command line tools like bkr list-systems. It is not easy to map the "Table" values to XML tags.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
25.5

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to the beaker web interface
2. click Show Search Options
3. Enter Disk/SectorSize greater than 512
4. Realize that you don't know how to reproduce the same search using
bkr list-systems --xml-filter='<hostRequires>...</hostRequires>'

Comment 1 Dan Callaghan 2018-08-06 00:15:33 UTC
This is a nice idea. Unfortunately today it is not really possible, because the web UI system search is a totally separate code path (with totally separate search capabilities!) than the XML filtering. We have bug 860492 about unifying them, which would be a prerequisite for this I think.

Comment 2 Pavel Cahyna 2018-08-06 13:17:27 UTC
Thanks. That explains why bz1612338 appears for the XML filtering but not for the web UI system search.

Comment 3 Martin Styk 2020-06-02 11:38:17 UTC
Hello,

thank you for opening issue in Beaker project.
This issue was marked with component "web ui".
As we are not planning to address any further issues in current UI, due to technical stack and not being able to work with Python 3 codebase, I'm closing this issue as WONTFIX.
New UI will be reimplemented within new versions of Beaker.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.

Best regards,
Martin <martin.styk>
