Description Marina Kalinin 2018-08-07 17:15:35 UTC
This bug is to make an urgent request to build a new RHV Guest tools ISO for RHV Windows guest with the fix from bz#1596457.

Why is this important?
Because bz#1596457 makes guests hang and fail live snapshot/merge operations as per bz#1572801 with 100% probability.

P.S. Not sure I chose the right component, but I could not find anything closer to guest agent than releng. Please change, if needed.

Comment 8 Petr Matyáš 2018-08-13 16:06:28 UTC
Using rhv-guest-tools-iso-4.2-8.el7ev.noarch

With RHEV-Tools 4.2.8 and QEMU guest agent 7.6.2 installed I get this:

[root@hostname ~]# virsh qemu-agent-command widle '{"execute": "guest-fsfreeze-freeze"}'
Please enter your authentication name: root
Please enter your password:
error: Guest agent is not responding: Guest agent not available for now

when I'm running disk check through crystaldiskmark (or there is an updates check running) which is OK.

I can execute fsfreeze-freeze normally otherwise (and fsfreeze-thaw).

Comment 17 Sandro Bonazzola 2018-09-28 13:41:14 UTC
Please re-test on 4.3 build

Comment 20 Petr Matyáš 2018-10-08 12:01:04 UTC
With RHEV-Tools 4.3.1 and QEMU guest agent 7.6.2 installed I get this:

[root@slot-9 ~]# virsh qemu-agent-command AHOJ_W10 '{"execute": "guest-fsfreeze-freeze"}'
error: Guest agent is not responding: Guest agent not available for now

when I'm running disk check through crystaldiskmark (or there is an updates check running) which is OK.

I can execute fsfreeze-freeze normally otherwise (and fsfreeze-thaw).
