Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 161354
loading/installing Linux OS
Last modified: 2007-11-30 17:07:07 EST
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)
Description of problem:
H/W: Dell Precision Workstation 370N 3.80GHz, Intel EM64T1M L2 Cache, 80GB Serial ATA.
Wish to install RH Ent. for the x86 arch.
Is this possible? I am trying to load 32bit binary os onto 64bit h/w. The install disk #1 starts up and then displays error that there are NO DISKS.
Installing RH Ent WS V3 update2 for 64bit AMD64 and Intel EM64T works fine.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Insert RH Ent Linux WS (x86 arch) cd#1 and boot.
2.Installation begins by checking media; results OK.
3.Proceed to install
4.Install stops; says NO DISKS
5.Unable to continue.
It should work, but it's possible you need a later update release.
