Description Martin Bukatovic 2018-08-09 09:53:16 UTC
Description of problem
======================

The description refers to all volumes, even though this panel is concerned
with a single volume only.

Version-Release number of selected component
============================================

tendrl-monitoring-integration-1.6.3-7.el7rhgs.noarch

Steps to Reproduce
==================

1. Instal RHGS WA using tendrl-ansible
2. Import Trusted storage pool with at least one volume
3. Go to Volume dashboard and check IOPS panel's description (available
   via little "i" icon on top left corner of the panel).

Note: the IOPS panel is in Performance section of the Volume dashboard.

Actual results
==============

The description states:

> The IOPS panel displays aggregated brick level read and write operations
> collected using “gluster volume profile info” over a period of time. The
> IOPS value shown only reflects metrics from volumes that have volume
> profiling enabled. No data will be shown if volume profiling is not enabled
> on at least 1 volume.

Which is a little misleading, as this panel is part of Volume dashboard and
so it reports data for particular volume only.

Expected results
================

Sentence:

> No data will be shown if volume profiling is not enabled
> on at least 1 volume.

Is replace with:

> No data will be shown if volume profiling is not enabled
> on this particular volume.

Or something more polished conveying the same message.

Comment 1 Martin Bukatovic 2018-08-09 09:57:53 UTC
Update of Expected results
==========================

This sentence from the description:

> The IOPS value shown only reflects metrics from volumes that have volume
> profiling enabled.

could be also tweaked to make it more clear that data will be shown only if
the selected volume has profiling enabled.

Comment 4 gowtham 2018-09-05 15:40:50 UTC
Proposed Description:

 The IOPS panel displays aggregated brick level read and write operations collected using “gluster volume profile info” over a period of time. The IOPS value shown only reflects metrics from volumes that have volume profiling enabled. No data will be shown if volume profiling is not enabled for the selected volume.

Comment 5 gowtham 2018-09-10 06:15:55 UTC
Martin is above description is fine

Comment 9 gowtham 2018-09-12 07:51:54 UTC
Modified Proposed Description:

 The IOPS panel displays aggregated brick level read and write operations collected using “gluster volume profile info” over a period of time. The IOPS value shown only reflects metrics from volumes that have volume profiling enabled. No data will be shown if volume profiling is disabled for the selected volume.

Looks good. I see you haven't tweaked the other part of the text as noted in
comment 1, but that was just a suggestion.

Comment 12 Elena Bondarenko 2018-09-26 06:55:27 UTC
The IOPS panel description has been changed according to Comment 9.
